Assessment Descriptions
All assessments include a pre-assessment consultation and a feedback meeting on the day of the assessment.
Specific Learning Disorder/Learning Difficulties
This is a diagnostic assessment process for dyslexia, dysgraphia and/or dyscalculia. It includes cognitive and educational assessments (i.e. reading, spelling, writing and mathematics). It helps identify strengths and difficulties. A comprehensive report is prepared with results, diagnosis (if relevant) and recommendations for support at school/workplace and home.
Autism
This is a diagnostic assessment process for Autism. It helps identify strengths and difficulties. A comprehensive report is prepared with results, diagnosis (if relevant) and recommendations for support at school/workplace and home.
Intellectual Disability
This is a diagnostic assessment process and includes a cognitive assessment and an assessment of adaptive functioning (social, communication and daily living skills). A comprehensive report is prepared with results, diagnosis (if relevant) and recommendations for support at school/workplace and home.
Giftedness/High Ability
This includes cognitive and educational assessments (i.e. reading, spelling, writing and mathematics). It helps identify strengths and difficulties. A comprehensive report is prepared with results and recommendations for school and home.
School Readiness
This includes cognitive and educational assessments (i.e. oral language, foundational literacy, mathematics). A comprehensive report is prepared with results and recommendations.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
This includes cognitive, executive functioning and a general developmental screener. A comprehensive report is prepared with results and recommendations for school and home.
Adaptive behaviour/functional assessment (for NDIS)
This is an assessment of adaptive behaviour (daily living skills, communication and socialisation) that may be helpful for establishing the level of impairment for the purpose of NDIS.
Additional Screening
Please note that additional measures may be incorporated into the above assessments, such as an Autism Spectrum Disorder screener, an ADHD screener or a general developmental screener
Family Report
This assessment is completed for the Family and Federal Circuit Court and involves individual meetings with each family member, where applicable, as well as observations of interactions between parents and children. A comprehensive report is prepared for the Court.
Child Impact Report
This assessment is completed for the Family and Federal Circuit Court and involves individual meetings with family members, where applicable, and may include observations of interactions between parents and children. A short report is prepared for the Court.
